Lora Margaret Walters

COVINGTON, Ind. — Lora Margaret Walters, 87, of Covington, Ind., died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Perrysville, the daughter of Austin and Pearl (Long) Stutler.

Lora was a 1943 graduate of Perrysville High School. She moved to Covington upon her marriage in 1947 and was a farm wife. She loved her family and grandchildren; she also enjoyed gardening and baking.

Lora married William Walters on Dec. 18, 1947, and he died June 7, 1993. Surviving are two sons, Phillip (Diana) Walters and Roger Walters, both of Covington; a daughter, Lisa McCloud of Williamsport; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Lizz) Walters of Fishers, Ind., Jennifer (Michael) Shepherd of Wingate, Brad Brooks of Williamsport, Matthew Walters and, Ryan Walters, both of Mahomet, and Nicholas McCloud of Williamsport; and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Katelyn and Mitchell Shepherd. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters, an infant son and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Shelby Funeral Home with Charles Callahan officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
