Sylvia Lee (Dugan) Low

CHRISMAN — Sylvia Lee (Dugan) Low, 83, of Chrisman, passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.

She was retired after 17 years as a dietary aid for Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.

She was born July 5, 1929, in Scottland, Ill., the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Stella Myrtle (Whitesell) Dugan.

She married Franklin Jennings Low on May 5, 1951, in Chrisman. He preceded her in death July 2, 2002.

Survivors include a son, John Franklin Low of Chrisman; two daughters, Sharon Marie David of Paris, Ill., and Kathy Jo (Chuck) Nesbitt of Catlin; a brother, Leon Grant Dugan of Chrisman; five grandchildren, Joseph Allen (Kelly) David and Chad Eric (Kimberly) David, both of Chrisman, Jeremy Shane (Amy) David of Ashmore, and Katy Jo and William Charles Nesbitt, both of Catlin; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Dean Low; a brother, Edward Dugan; two sisters, Margaret Hollingsworth and Clarann Brown; and a son-in-law, Joseph L. David.

Mrs. Low attended First Baptist Church of Chrisman, and was a member and past Recorder of the Royal Neighbors of American Scottland, Illinois, Camp 804 since 1954. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother who loved crossword and jigsaw puzzles, quilting and embroidery, and the music of Brad Paisley.

For those who wish, the family suggests memorials to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.

Services celebrating her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Burial will follow in Hoult Cemetery south of Chrisman. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
