DANVILLE — Fern C. Dunagan, 91, of Danville, passed away at 1:58 p.m. Nov. 9, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Fern was born on March 13, 1921, to Allen Ray and Bessie (Barkley) Talbert in Danville. She married Arvel G. Dunagan on July 7, 1941, in Danville; he preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1990.

She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Mary Jo (Danny) and Dort (A.G) Dunagan; one sister, Betty (Bob) Walter of Danville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Fern is preceded in death by her parents; husband Arvel; two sons, Danny and A.G. Dunagan; and one great-granddaughter.

Fern graduated from Bismarck High School and worked as a welder and materials handler for Heatcraft-Bohn until her retirement. Fern was a member of Pleasant Grove Church, enjoyed sewing and watching basketball. She took pride in her yard and could often be found on her lawnmower. Fern loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Per Fern’s wishes she will be cremated with no services and burial in Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be made in Fern’s name to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.
