Rosemary Marie (Taylor) Snider

DANVILLE — Rosemary Marie (Taylor) Snider, 78, of Danville, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

She was born Jan. 23, 1934, in Danville to Paul and Rhuby (Young) Taylor. Both are deceased.

She married Ivan Snider on June 29, 1951. He preceded her in death in April 1987.

Rosie is survived by one sister, Rachael Montgomery of Anaheim, Calif.; four daughters, Sheryl (Paul) Campbell of Tilton, Mary (Kent) Augustson of Danville, Diana Duncan of Bloomington and Cathy (Robert) Bean of Danville; and her three sons, Ivan E. (Nancy) Snider of Missouri, Joseph A. (Julie) Snider of Kentucky and Steven (Cheryl) Snider of South Carolina. Her 13 grandchildren, Ronald Pundt, Jessica Augustson, Kayla (Campbell) Sanders, Katie Jo (Campbell) Miller, Jonathan Snider, Rachael Snider, Allison Duncan, Sheebah Jackson, Alyis Snider, Emma Snider, Alex (Tiffany) Leonard, Nick (Kyla) Leonard, Steven Andrew Snider II; and her five great-grandchildren, Jacob Pundt, Kendra Pundt, Tyler Anthony Sanders, Allison Leonard and Conner Leonard, also survive her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ivan; two brothers, Leo and Wesley; one sister, Peggy; and one daughter, Gladys Possiter, preceded Rosie in death.

As a resident of the Wolford Apartments in Danville for many years, she was the “Welcome Lady.” Everyone saw her on the second floor greeting everyone who came into the lobby. Since becoming a resident of North Logan Health Care in Danville, she was always active in whatever was going on. She was one of the original “cookie ladies” and always sold paper pumpkins in October for Cystic Fibrosis.

Rosie set a good example of Christian faith and has helped countless people through all her challenges, cheerfully and with hope. She will continue to be loved and missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life service for Rosemary Snider is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, with burial to follow at Danville National Cemetery. Paul Rebert has been asked to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rosie’s name to the North Logan Activity Department.

Please join Rosemary’s family in sharing memories, photos and videos of her life through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
