Winifred L. Moore

CATLIN — Winifred L. Moore, 78, of Catlin, passed away at 3:47 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Provena USMC in Danville.

Winnie was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Indianapolis, to John Sherman and Alma Deeken Lambright. She married Edward S. Moore on Dec. 20, 1952, at St. James Church. Ed survives, as well as two sons, Benjamin (Sheila) Moore of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Sherman (Margaret) Moore of Maryland; one daughter, Kathryn (Greg) Hughes of Erlanger, Ky.; six grandchildren, Calli, Leah, John, Chase, Elizabeth and Conor. She was preceded by two brothers.

Winnie enjoyed reading, gardening and antiquing. She was a member of the Catlin United Methodist Church and worked with Lakeview Hospital Auxiliary. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois and had a degree in special education. Winnie had worked for a time with District 118 in Danville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Catlin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Janet Miller officiating. Burial in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Memorials to the Catlin United Methodist Church.
