Florence M. Lahren

DANVILLE — Florence M. Lahren, 88, of Danville, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 31, 2013, at North Logan Health Care.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Mandan, N.D., the daughter of Martin C. and Helen C. (Raush) Lahren. Her father was from Minnesota and her mother from Bluegrass, N.D.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Meta Lahren; and one nephew, Doug (Beth) Lahren, and their kids Naomi and Micah.

Florence lived in Mandan, N.D., until 1993 when she moved with family to Danville. She loved teaching others about the Bible and gardening.

She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a full-time evangelizer or regular pioneer. She spent many hours every month in door-to-door ministry as well as other forms of preaching and sharing her faith. She shared in this full-time work for over 50 years and was a dedicated baptized servant of Jehovah for 71 years, since her baptism June 24, 1942. She also spent many years caring for her aging parents until their death.

A memorial service for Florence will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Danville, with Fred Ellis officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded with Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville.
