RIDGE FARM — On Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, Robert Becker, 78, of Ridge Farm, left this life to join his family in heaven.

He was born April 29, 1933, to Peter and Inez (Crowder) Becker.

He was married to Collene Bridgeman on April 14, 1953. His wife of 58 years survives him.

He also is survived by his son, Robert (Nina) Becker of Ridge Farm; his daughters, Janie (Bill) Ballard of Georgetown, Sherry (Carl) Carpenter of Danville and Robin (Fred) Cast of Ridge Farm; his stepmother, Mary Becker of Danville; two stepsisters, Diane Jones of Logansport, Ind., and Deloris Young of Danville; his 11 grandchildren; and his 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, one stepbrother, one niece and one nephew.

Robert was a member of the Carpenters Union 269 for 48 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed bowling and achieved his first 300 game at Ridgeway Lanes on Aug. 17, 1998. His favorite pastime of all was spending time with his family, and he always enjoyed a good joke.

A celebration of Robert’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given in his name to donor’s choice of charity.
