Danny Dean Coffman

GRANITE CITY — Danny Dean Coffman, 68, of Granite City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his home.

Danny was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Terre Haute, Ind.

He gave 33 years to the General Motors Corporation as a clerk and a parts inspector.

Danny was Christian who loved the Lord and his family. He had won many trophies for his 1966 red convertible Ford Mustang. He enjoyed woodworking and square dancing. In his free time, Danny loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love of his family and the many special times shared together.

He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Carolyn (Michos) Coffman, whom he married on Jan. 18, 1964; daughters, Denise (Rev. David) Noble of Granite City and Amy (James) Maxwell of Troy, Ill.; son, John Coffman; grandchildren, Alexis Noble of Granite City, Natasha Noble of Granite City, Ashley (Andy) Wireman of Danville, Logan Coffman of Danville, Brett Maxwell of Lafayette, Ind., Ethan Maxwell of Troy, Ill., and Claire Maxwell of Troy; sister, Jan (Bob) Flak of Terre Haute; brothers, Tim Coffman, Kyle (Janice) Coffman, Bill (Kathy) Coffman and Jay (Jodie) Coffman, all of Terre Haute; and brother-in-law, Rick (Francis) Coffee of Surprise, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; Bill and June (Gammon) Coffman, and a sister-in-law, Mary Coffman.

In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, with services to begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Noble officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
