CATLIN — Thomas G. Cook, 65, of Catlin, passed away at 6:13 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Thomas was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Danville, to Wesley and Marjorie Thomas Cook.

He married Rhonda K. Cook on Dec. 22, 1966, at St. Mary’s Church in Westville. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2012.

Surviving are his father, Wesley Cook of Westville; one son, Robert (Dana) Cook of O’Fallon, Mo.; one daughter, Lisa Cook of Danville; one sister, Mary Ann (Jim) Thomas of Catlin; seven grandchildren, Skylar Cook, Braydon Cook, Kendra Pittman, Timothy Pittman II, Jalen Pittman, Kay Anna Pittman and Kendrick Pittman; and family friend, Linda Rollins.

He was preceded in death his mother; one son, Randall; and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn.

Thomas graduated from Catlin High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer in the Catlin area for 42 years.

He was a member and past commander of the Davis Busby Catlin American Legion Post 766. He was a member of the VFW and also 40/8. He enjoyed taking care of his wife and his family.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westville, with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Entombment: in the mausoleum at Resurrection Cemetery, Danville, with military honors by the Davis Busby Catlin American Legion Post 776. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with rosary service at 3:30 p.m.
