DANVILLE — Irene Gladys McCoy Pichon, 93, of Danville, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Clicotah, Okla., a daughter of Robert and Rilla Lyons McCoy. She married Harry E. Pichon Sept. 2, 1936, in Paris. He preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1981.
She is survived by a son, Larry Pichon of Bloomington; a grandson, Shane Pichon of Bloomington; two great-grandsons, Gage and Gunner Pichon, both of Bloomington; a sister, Mattie Halls of California; her loving nieces, Diane (Dennis) Bartlett and Joann Trimble; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel “Toots” Pichon; two brothers, Ezra and Frank McCoy; and three sisters, Ruby Reeves, Ethel Weller and Nora Atteberry.
Irene was a member of Batestown United Methodist Church. She was a cook at Catlin Grade School for several years. She and her husband owned and operated a restaurant in Catlin for many years.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Batestown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patti Wise officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Batestown United Methodist Church.
