SMYRNA, Tenn. — Barry Dale Beaver, 70, of Smyrna, Tenn., and formerly of Veedersburg, Ind., died at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born Dec. 31, 1941, at Williamsport, Ind., the son of William Leo and Ella Augusta Laube Beaver.

Barry Dale graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1959, served in the U. S. Army 1963 to 1966 and married Sherron Scott on Nov. 26, 1966, in Nashville, Tenn. They were married for 28 years before divorcing and remained dear friends.

Barry Dale was the sole proprietor/owner of Smyrna Loan and Jewelry the past 27 years.

He enjoyed playing billiards, checkers and cards and loved to watch sports, especially college football (Go Vols!) and NASCAR.

Barry Dale is survived by three daughters, Ann Sheryl Watson of Nashville, Tenn., Teresa Renee Ward of Gainsville, Va. (married to Dr. Jeff Ward) and Paula Ann Beaver of Columbia, Tenn.; and their mother, Sherron Scott of Columbia, Tenn.; two brothers, Bill Beaver of Brownsville, Texas, Gerald Beaver of Clarks Hill, Ind.; three sisters, Ina Lee (Ralph) Salts of Waveland, Ind., Carolyn Current of Covington, Ind., and Marilyn (Loren) Haas of West Lafayette, Ind.; three granddaughters, Katherine Watson, Elizabeth Watson and Eliana Ward.

His parents and a brother, Harold Beaver, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 18. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EST Monday, Nov. 19. Both will be held at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, Ind. Dr. Jeff Ward will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, with military honors by Veedersburg American Legion Post 288.
