Margaret Ruth High

DANVILLE — Margaret Ruth High, 96, of Danville, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Nov. 15, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.

She was born March 9, 1916, in Danville, to John B. and Myrtle Thatcher Pichon.

She married Noble High on Feb. 21, 1936, in Covington, Ind. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1991.

Surviving are a son, John Allen (Catherine) High Sr. of Danville; two grandsons, John (Stacy) High Jr. and Eric (Casie) High; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Gavin, Adisen and Avery; and several special nieces.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James H. High; three sisters; and two brothers.

Margaret had previously worked at the Burger Chef Drive-In and was the office manager at Miller Machine and Tool Company. She loved staying active and was a die-hard Cubs fan. Margaret also was very involved at Faith Baptist Church, of which she had been a member since 1967.

A service to celebrate the life of Margaret High will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov.19, at Faith Baptist Church in Danville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Allan Rudie will officiate. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
