Patricia Ann (Cox) Nosler

DANVILLE —

Patricia Ann (Cox) Nosler, 70, of Danville passed away at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

She was born July 23, 1942, in Pennington Gap, Va., to Claude and Goldie Marie Phillips Carroll. Patricia was first married to Larry J. Cox, whom she had four children with. She later married Albert E. Nosler on Aug. 23, 1983. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Lorie (Thomas) Cox Ames of Catlin, Ron Cox of Danville, and Brenda (Larry) Cox Ross of Danville; three step-sons, Matt, Alan, and Hank Nosler; a sister, Kay Shadwald and sister-in-law, Betty Carroll; brothers-in-law, Tom (Sally) Cox and Dan (Jo Ann) Carpenter; grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Tommy, Ted, Brittany, Lori, Sabrina, April, Melanie, Bradley, Joseph, Shane, Marie, Missy, Sarah and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Dominick, Dakota, Lily, Mikey, Brianna, Shelby, Macey, Logan, Chelsea, Kylen, Dawson, Kalie, Austin, Aubrey, Caleb, David and Thomas; and great-great-granddaughter, Sophie; special nephew, Danny Cox, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Carroll; mother and stepfather, Goldie and Jack Kindlesparker; a son, Rodney Joseph Cox; great-grandson, Dale Michael Brandenburg; brother, Johnny Mac Carroll; an infant brother; and ex-husband and close friend, Larry Cox.

Patricia had been a dietician at the VA for 35 years until her retirement. She loved her job and always made sure the veterans were fed. She also loved spending time with her family and her dogs. Patricia enjoyed flowers and gardening in her yard and feeding the birds outside her home. She liked reading, especially mysteries and Christian books, and playing bingo and yahtzee.

Patricia’s family would like to give a special thank you to Pastor Scott McCurdy of Calvary Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate the life of Patricia Nosler will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Scott McCurdy will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, also at Sunset. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
