FAIRMOUNT — Gary D. Gooch, 56, of Fairmount, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at his home.

Gary was born July 17, 1956, in Danville to Darrell and Bessie Evans Gooch.

He married Karen Simpson on Nov. 15, 1996, in Morris. She survives.

Also surviving are: one stepdaughter, Laurie Richter of Sidell; one brother, Dale Gooch of Morris; two grandchildren, Dale and Abi Richter; one nephew, Mike (Marge) Smith of Seneca; two nieces, Debbie (Daryl) Punke of Mazon, and Tina (Mark) Brookman of Mazon; and a special cousin, Patty Aldrich-Barnett, of Indianola.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul; and one sister, Marlene.

Gary had been a truck driver for the Trisler Seed Farms in Fairmount for several years. He loved to barter and trade things. He enjoyed camping, collecting guns and target shooting.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with the Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial in Greenview Cemetery, Fairmount. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Robison Chapel, Catlin.
