Anne Lahne

DANVILLE — Anne Lahne, 76, of Danville, passed away at 9:02 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.

Anne was born Aug. 19, 1936, to William and Clara (Koehn) Cooper in Danville and grew up in Mason, Ohio, and Sidell.

She married Floyd Lahne in 1980 in Danville. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1996.

Anne is survived her son, Mark (Lisa) Dill of Paris; daughters, Debbie Dill of Danville, and Helen (Bruce) Cappello of Westville; three brothers, Joe (Phyllis) Cooper of Burr Ridge, Phil Cooper of Darien, and Bill (Brenda) Cooper of Danville; one sister, Helen (Tom) Stitt of Lisle; grandchildren, William Phelps, April Cundiff, Ashley Borst, Brittani Phelps, Hunter Dill and Jordan Dill; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Summer, Chloe, Cade, Zane, Tavyn and Ky’ston; and she was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; and sons, Billy and Michael “Rocky” Dill.

Known as the “International Hockey Mom” for the Danville Wings, Anne opened her home to players from around the world, including Russia, Sweden, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. One of Anne’s proudest achievements was retiring at the age of 70 from Thermo Technics after 40 years of employment.

An avid outdoorswoman, Anne loved camping and fishing almost as much as watching the Cardinals win. She was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with her four-legged friends, CC and Faith. The most important thing in her life was spending time with her family, and she will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Anne’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, with Pastor Heidle officiating and burial at Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville.

Memorials may be made in Anne’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Condolences may be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
