Betty 'Lu' L. Voyles

POTOMAC — Betty “Lu” L. Voyles, 65, of Potomac, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Lu was born Oct. 12, 1947, in Center, Ky., the daughter of Richard and Alma (Cross) Coffey.

She married Darrin Voyles on Sept. 22, 1990, at Rantoul Church of the Nazarene. He survives.

She also is survived by four daughters, Melissa (George) Searcy of Hoopeston, Julie (Mike Kietzman) Carswell of Rankin, Kala (Michael) Colunga of Gifford and Amy (Trevan) Jameson of Potomac; one son, Henry (Juli) Moulden of Potomac; two brothers, Gordon (Donna) Coffey of Rossville and Jack (Joyce) Coffey of Hoopeston; two sisters, Marge Pickett of Danville and Shirley Linder of Potomac; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wendell Coffey; and a granddaughter, Jewels Moulden.

Lu worked as a Quality Control Auditor at Easton Bell Sports in Rantoul for 26 years. She was a member of the Potomac Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards and going to the riverboat. She also was an avid Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini fan.

Lu’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Lu’s life will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Pastor Randy Holden officiating. Burial will follow in Potomac Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home.
