DANVILLE —
The angels in heaven are rejoicing above because Miley Kalyn Reed was called home on March 14, 2013, to join them with her smile that lights up a room and her beautiful heart ...
Miley, the beloved daughter of Rick and Beccy (Winkler) Reed, of Danville, was born on Dec. 2, 1990.
She graduated from Bismarck-Henning High School in 2009 and was in her senior year at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. She had just passed her Illinois Teachers Certification and was looking forward to teaching early childhood education.
Miss Miley was a member of the Second Church of Christ, and an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loved running 5Ks for charity, her favorites being The Color Run and The Santa Hustle in Chicago, Superman Dat Throw 35-0! in her four years playing flag football for the intramurals in Olivet, the color pink and everything Disney. She always had a smile on her pretty face, and she never slowed down!
Miley is now with her Grandpa Max Dines and is watching over those she left behind such as her parents; her grandparents, David Sr. and Coletta Winkler, Mrs. Max (Sue) Dines and Ralph and Diana Reed; her aunts and uncles, David Winkler Jr., Terry and Jenny Winkler, Jim and Vicki Smith, Robert and Tammy Winkler, Kevin and Julie McKenzie, Jude Dines, Jason Kees and Justin and Lisa Kees; her cousins, Amanda Winkler, Andrew Winkler, Kimmy (John) Becker, Sarah (Andrew) Bower, Nathan (Kate) Winkler, Rachel (Ryan) Pearson, Melissa (Tyson) Bell, Joey (Bryanna) Smith, Danielle (Freddy) George, Michael (Chasidy) Winkler, Bricie Winkler, Becca Winkler, Lindsay Darr, Tyler McKenzie, Lauren McKenzie, Jayln Kees, Jaret Kees, Maddie Kees and Jackson Kees; also, her many close friends at Olivet, her special friends Ava and Max Robinson; and the very special love of her life, Adam Satterwhite.
A celebration of life service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at The Second Church of Christ, 3550 E. Voorhees St. in Danville. Officiating will be Drew Mentzer with eulogy by Matt Smith. Entombment will be in Sunset’s Swan Court Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Miley’s name may be made to the Olivet Nazarene University Recreation Center.
