DANVILLE — Carol Sue Gilbert Johnson from Danville passed away at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 19, 1959, to George and Virgina Gilbert.

She married Gary Johnson March 16, 1995.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Johnson of Danville; son, David (Brenda) Staley of Elkton, Ky.; brothers, Gene (Tawana) Gilbert of Georgetown and George (Doris) Gilbert of Tilton; sister, Judy (Buff) Weekley of Rantoul; and twin sister, Cheryl (Ben) Staley of Danville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brittany Staley, David Staley III, Robert (Bubba) Gilbert Jr., Mercedes Staley, David (Bebe) Gilbert, Charlie Staley, David, Dylan, Dalton and Devin Pratt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia Gilbert; her son, Robert Gilbert; and her brothers, Charles and William H. Gilbert.

Carol was a part of the Wildlife Band. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville. Burial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Danville National Cemetery.
