Richard L. Bridgman Sr.

DANVILLE — Richard L. Bridgman Sr., 68, of Danville, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at his residence.

Richard was born July 9, 1944, to Claude and Margarie (Fax) Bridgman in Chicago.

He is survived by his sons Richard L. Bridgman Jr. of Danville, Todd Gallagher of Tilton and Terry Mueller of Kansas; one brother, Mick Bridgman of Florida; one sister, Sharon Nibbe of Westville; and one granddaughter.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buddy, Philip and David Bridgman; and nephew Steve Bridgman.

A bricklayer by trade, Richard helped to build Danville. Many homes and public buildings, including the courthouse, were a result of his work. Active in the local racing scene, he supported many drivers and was a sponsor of several MMA fights. Richard loved his family and took great pride in his son.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

As per Richard’s wishes, he will be cremated with no services. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Richard’s family. Condolences may be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
