Robert John Felgenhauer Jr.

DANVILLE — Robert John Felgenhauer Jr., 86, of Danville, went to be with the Lord at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1930 N. Bowman, Danville, with Pastor Michael Heidle officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Pape’s. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post 210.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or CARA, Citizens for Animal Rescue & Adoption, 609 E. Fifth, Tilton, IL 61833.

Bob was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Danville to Robert John Felgenhauer Sr. and his wife, Lillian Rebecca Drews.

He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and Danville High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, having served in the Pacific Theater. He had worked from 1946-1989 in the engineering department of Hyster Inc.

He was a life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He received a Master Gardener degree from the University of Illinois. He had served as a Boy Scout leader with Troop 19 and as a Red Vest volunteer at Provena. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling and animals. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marjorie Allie. They were married on July 29, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Also surviving are three children, David (Judy) Felgenhauer, Pamela Felgenhauer and Tracy (Carl) Culkin; two grandchildren, Stephan Felgenhauer and Jessica Felgenhauer; a sister-in-law, Betty (Ray) Watts; and several nieces and nephews.
