Judith Ann 'Judy' Busby

CORTEZ, Colo. — Judith Ann “Judy” Busby, 71, of Cortez, Colo., formerly a longtime resident of Ridge Farm, passed away peacefully the morning of Jan. 15, 2013, in her home at Madison House Assisted Living in Cortez, Colo.

She was born March 16, 1941, to Robert F. and Helen M. (Duncan) Busby.

Judy was an avid reader and especially enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Madison House. The last year and a half, Judy got acquainted with her great-nephew who knew how to make her smile.

She was a lifelong active member of the Ridge Farm United Methodist Church and also enjoyed being a member of the United Methodist Women with her friends in Ridge Farm.

Judy was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Busby, who resides at Madison House in Cortez, Colo.; her sister, Carol L. Bendick of Powell, Wyo.; her two brothers, Robert D. (Janice) Busby of Cortez, Colo., and John David (Donna) Busby of Trinity, Fla.; her niece, Kelly (Andrew) Campo; her great-nephew, T.J. Campo, of Cortez, Colo.; and her nephew, Damian D. Busby, of Trinity, Fla.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Judith Ann “Judy” Busby will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown, with George Desmond officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to Ridge Farm United Methodist Church or The American Cancer Society.
