LITTLE ROCK, Ark. —
Janice Antoinette “Toni” Naylor (Strahl) born Sept. 5, 1938, to the late Frank J. Strahl Sr. and Georgia Strahl, went home to be with our heavenly Father Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012.
Toni graduated from Danville High in Illinois in 1957 and later graduated from cosmetology school in 1969. She moved to Arkansas in 1972, where she continued to work as a cosmetologist and an independent courier for over 20 years. She was a hard worker and could always accomplish any job or task she set her mind to.
She loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had an adventurous spirit and was always ready to go anywhere and do anything; one of her favorite places to be was the beach.
In her own words about her life, she said, “I have not done anything wonderful with my life, but I have loved every minute of it.” To her loved ones she did wonderful things all the time, and she was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend.
Toni fought and beat stage 3A lung cancer this year. Unfortunately, the side effects her body encountered from the treatment were too much for her to overcome.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frank J. Strahl Jr.; five sisters, Mary Jayne Wadsworth, Margaret Frances Strahl, Barbara Gonzales, Patricia Clark and Sandra Lynch.
She will be missed by John B. Naylor; three children, Kuba Gordon and husband, Neal, Johanna “Toni Jo” Finkbeiner and husband, Chris, and Cory Naylor and wife, Tesa; 13 grandchildren, BJ Gordon and wife, Kim, Chasity Taylor and husband, Matt, Christian Finkbeiner, Pamela Truemper and husband, Zach, Candice Gordon, Nicholas Finkbeiner, Dylan Finkbeiner, Ali Finkbeiner, Tristan Naylor, Laney Ford, Lensey Ford, Logan Naylor and Macee Naylor; seven great-grandchildren, Breeann Taylor, CJ Taylor, Jude Gordon, Elim Gordon, Samantha Taylor, Zachary Truemper II and Jade Truemper; three sisters, Marjorie Watters, Joann Wells and Georgia Lee Hanciaux; and two brothers, Jack Strahl and Edward Strahl.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, Little Rock, Ark., (501) 224-8300. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home chapel. Greg Kirksey will be officiating.
