CATLIN — Lillian M. Jordan, 105, of Catlin, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville.
Lillian was born Jan. 23, 1907, in Fitzgerald, Ga., the daughter of Noah and May Bell Brown Chastain. She married John Kepling on Dec. 19, 1926, in Georgia. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1956. She married Sam Jordan on Jan. 3, 1961, in Catlin. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Rajgopal of Evansville, Ind., and Charlotte (Dean) Sacre of Catlin; one stepson, Harold “Cork” (Irma) Jordan of Georgetown; two stepdaughters, Susan (Ed) Lovett of Georgetown and Carolyn Brown of Catlin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Kepling; two brothers, Louis and Theo Chastain; three sisters, Grace Chastain, Georgia Dollar and Beatrice Suber; and one grandson, Ricky Nagle.
Lillian had worked as a seamstress for M. Snower Company and as a cook for Community Action in Danville. She was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ and the Berean Class. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework, gardening, flowers and traveling. She loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with Darren Johnson officiating. Burial: Jones Grove Cemetery, Catlin. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Robison Chapel. Memorials to the Catlin Church of Christ, breast cancer research, or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
