DANVILLE — Joann “Jodi” Bond, 63, of Danville, passed away at 6:08 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at North Logan Healthcare in Danville.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville, with the Rev. Connie Moodie officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Pape’s. She will be laid to rest in the Danville National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Danville United Church of Christ and/or The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter.

Jodi was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Danville to Felix Zigamont and Mary Jane Grites.

She attended St. Joe Grade School and graduated from Schlarman High in 1966. She then went to work at Hyster as an export shipping clerk, retiring from Hyster after 40 plus years.

Jodi was an avid Cardinals and Illini fan. She attended many Cardinal games and many Illini basketball, football and girls volleyball games. She loved to travel with her best friend, Nancy Ling, who was a lifelong friend. She also loved to collect snowmen of which she had so many that sometimes it was hard to find a place to sit in the house.

Jodi married Lloyd H. Bond on Nov. 28, 1994, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

She is survived by her husband; a brother, Tom Grites, of Absecon, N.J.; and two stepchildren, Michael Bond, of Washington, Ill., and Karen Leeper, of Metamora.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jodi was a loving wife and friend who will be missed by all those she touched.
