WILLIAMSPORT, Ind. — Nellie M. (Duggan) Odle, 84, of Williamsport, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at The Waters of Williamsport.
Nellie was born in Portland Arch on Dec. 22, 1922. She was the daughter of Dennis P. and Myrtle M. (Brooks) Duggan. She resided and went to school at the Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home in Knightstown. On Sept. 16, 1939, she married Thomas “Tom” “Newt” Vernon Odle. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2007.
Nellie was a homemaker. She resided in rural Williamsport, and during the winters, she and her husband spent their time in Arcadia, Fla. She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Danville, Ill. She was a good friend and neighbor. She loved crossword puzzles and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are one son, Tom L. Odle (wife: Lenora) of Williamsport; three daughters, Dennie A. Turner (husband: Larry) and Joy E. Beckett (husband: Doug), both of Williamsport, and Jane E. Lowe (husband: Mike) of Palmetto, Fla.; half sister, Romona McMillen of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband; son, Larry Odle; one sister, Thelma “Dixie” Mornout; and a half brother, Jack Newnum.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. EST Thursday, Dec. 20 at the Williamsport Christian Church with Revs. Don Williams and Bryce Wiley officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the 7th Day Adventist Church in Danville, Ill.
