GEORGETOWN — Danny Lee Dieu, 55, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:07 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville. He was born on Jan. 4, 1954, in Danville, the son of Harold and Beverly (Cope) Dieu.
He is survived by: his mother, Beverly Jenkins of Georgetown; his sons, Robert Barnes of Ridge Farm, Harold Dieu of Indiana and R.W. Dieu of Prescott, Ariz.; his daughters, Crystal Dieu of Goodyear, Ariz., Nikki Dieu of Georgetown, Samantha Dieu of Georgetown, Heather Dieu of Veedersburg, Ind., and Amber Dieu of Georgetown; his 20 grandchildren; his brothers, Robert (Donna) Dieu of Georgetown and Billy Dieu of Georgetown; his sister, Linda (Donald) Clarey of Georgetown; his stepbrothers, Alexander W., Don, Ben, Tim and Jess Jenkins; his good fishing-buddy, Bob Williams of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by: his father; his stepfather, Alexander Jenkins; one grandson; a nephew; two stepsisters, Shantal Wells and Cindy Holliman.
Danny enjoyed going fishing, mushroom and ginseng hunting. He loved spending his time outdoors and also enjoyed playing Euchre. Danny cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
A celebration of Danny’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown. Leon Korb will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West St. in Georgetown.
