Dolores M. Roberts, 75, of Danville passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center.
Dolores was born July 23, 1933, in Cates, Ind., daughter of Glenn and Pauline (Thompson) Christie. She married Ronald Roberts on May 22, 1954, in Danville.
He survives along with three children: Christie (Ron) Roth of Granite City, Jay (Kathy) Roberts of Danville and James (Paula) Roberts of Ramona, Calif.; sister, Darlene (Kenny) Miller of Cayuga, Ind.; brother, Jack Christie of Cayuga, Ind.; grandchildren, Jason Roberts of Danville, Shannon Roth of Belleville, Tara Roberts of Danville, Darryl Neff of Ramona, Calif., Sabrina Roberts of Ramona, Calif., and Katelyn Roberts of Danville; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Moody; and brother, Harris Christie.
Dolores was a graduate of Tangier (Ind.) High School and had worked for Danville Township as a deputy tax assessor for 20-plus years. She enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, reading romance novels, collecting elephants, wearing Chanel No. 5 perfume, but, most of all, spending time with her family at home.
A celebration of Dolores’s Life will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made to the CRIS Senior Services.
