George Joseph “Joe” Williams

George Joseph “Joe” Williams, 25, of Danville departed on the next phase of his journey at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his residence. Joe was born Oct. 7, 1983, in Danville, the son of George and Jean (Gleespen) Williams.

Joe is survived and will be missed by his parents, George and Jean Williams of Danville; his brother, Chris (Miranda) Williams of Danville; and his sister, Melissa (Brad) Dixon of Phoenix, Ariz. Joe is also survived by his two grandmothers, Helen Williams and Geneva Gleespen, both of Decatur, along with his four special friends, Kimberly White, Amy Shenan, Amy Lamb, and Ijeoma Uswaru. Both grandfathers and one uncle precede Joe in death.

Joe was passionate about his beliefs and actively supported his causes.

He had a big heart and was loved by his family and friends. He brought a gift of joy whenever he walked into a room. He had a way of perfectly capturing what was going on around him with his thoughts and words. He also had a way of finding fun.

Joe was a Danville High School graduate and received an associate’s degree from DACC.

He was employed with Bungee as an auxiliary operator. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Per his and his family’s wishes, Joe will be cremated and a public memorial celebration will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum located at 3901 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at www.sun
