Richard Don “Rick” Anderson, 60, of Oakwood, passed away on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at his home.
Rick was born March 8, 1950, in Centralia, Ill., to Robert and Virginia (Tucker) Anderson.
He attended Vandalia grade school and high school, graduating in 1968. Rick worked as a Danville City Police Officer for 27 years, retiring in 2001.
He enjoyed playing on the computer and spending time with his family. Rick was a member of Olive Branch.
Rick leaves behind his wife, Carla Anderson; a daughter, Rickie Anderson; a son, Kristopher (Taffie) Anderson; his mother, Virginia Anderson; a brother, Steve (Joan) Anderson; two grandchildren, Herrick and Rowen; and two step-grandchildren, Trenton and Peyton. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a great nephew.
Rick was preceded in death by his father and his mother-in-law, Billie Parsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St., in Danville, with Pastor Tiffany Black officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.
