DANVILLE — Mary Ann Crain, 66, of Danville, passed this life at 11:22 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, in the emergency room at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.

Mary Ann was born May 1, 1946, in Danville to Robert and Helen Watson Staley.

She married John T. Crain on April 7, 1963, in Danville. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, John (Barb) Crain of Westville; one daughter, Tania (Stacey Gillum) Tinder of Danville; one brother, Tom (Edna) Staley of Potomac; one sister, Sharon Croak of Florida; eight grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Zarn, Ann Tinder, Joshua (Cara) Crain, Chrysteenya Doan, David (Emma) Delgado, Cynthia Delgado, Lacey Cheuvront and Taylor (Michael) Wheeling; nine great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jim (Michelle) Crain and David (LaShelle) Crain; sisters-in-law, Connie (David) Dittmar and Julie First; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul Staley; and one brother-in-law, Harold First.

Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed participating in all of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino with her family. She also enjoyed her Kindle Fire, crafts of all kinds and going to auctions and car shows with her husband.

Memorial service: 4 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the United Methodist Church, Catlin, with Jim Crain officiating. Visitation: 3-4 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the church.
