Anna Catherine (Young) Farley

ATTICA, Ind. — Anna Catherine (Young) Farley, 94, formerly of Stone Bluff and Rob Roy, Ind., and had been residing at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away at 6:15 a.m. EST Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Anna was born in Stone Bluff, Ind., on Dec. 28, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Oxford Wright and Lena Mae (Hanley) Young.

She had lived most of her life in the Stone Bluff and Rob Roy area until moving to the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 1½ years ago.

Anna was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church all of her life. She started teaching Sunday school at the age of 11 and was baptized in the church at the age of 13.

She enjoyed quilting blankets for her grandchildren and also enjoyed working in the flower and vegetable gardens.

On April 3, 1937, Anna married Ralph Farley in Covington, Ind. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1996.

Anna leaves behind her two sons, Joe Farley of West Columbia, Texas, and John (Flo) Farley of Attica; a daughter, Lena Alice Willett of Attica; and an adopted daughter, Diane Ross of Veedersburg, Ind.; two sisters, Emma Greer of Williamsport, Ind., and Ruth Eacret of Stone Bluff, Ind.; 21 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elsie Farley and Jane Burroff; two brothers, Albert and Willard Young; and three sisters, Minnie Allen, Nina Payne and Betty Karlson.

Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery, Stone Bluff, Ind.
