Edna Langley, 91, of Danville, Ill., passed away on Aug. 29, 2010, at Fianna Hills Nursing Home in Fort Smith, Ark., where she had been living for the past eight years.
Mrs. Langley was born March 4, 1919, in Danville, Ill., a daughter of Oliver and Margaret Prewitt.
She was a graduate of Danville High School the class of 1936. She was employed by Industrial Glove Factory for some 40 years. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville. She loved sports and never gave up on her Chicago Cubs.
Survivors are her son, Bill Maiden and his wife, Carolyn, of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren, Scott Maiden and his wife, Cassandra, of Rogers, Ark., Tracy Mahar and her husband, Eddie, of Springdale, Ark., Dr. Cindy Basinski and her husband, Dr. Steven, of Evansville, Ind., and Cathy Maiden; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Maiden and Lawrence Langley; her son, Don Maiden; her parents; four sisters; two brothers; and one great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Edna’s Life will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Ill., with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
