Lorene G. (Ricketts) Brown, 91, of Attica, Ind., died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, in the Regency Place, Lafayette, Ind.
Lorene was born in Danville, on Jan. 1, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Jake and Mae Moore Ricketts. She was raised in Foster, graduating from Covington High School in 1936. She has lived most of her life in Shawnee Township in rural Attica.
On Sept. 1, 1937, Lorene married George Gerrald Brown in Veedersburg. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1986.
Lorene was a member of the Fountain County Home Extension Club of Shawnee Township. She was a former member of the Ladies Aide of the Fountain Church. She was an avid reader.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Miller, Frankfort; a son, Kenneth (Mary) Brown, Attica; six grandchildren, Mark (Lana) Miller, Attica, Molly (Jim) Cleek, Indianapolis, Kim (Greg) Ingalsbe, Terre Haute, Kelly (John) Smith, Brownsburg, Kevin (Donna) Brown, Indianapolis, and Kyle (Ashley) Brown, Attica; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Brown.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
