BARBARA JEAN LANGLEY


PERRYSVILLE, Ind. — Barbara Jean Langley, 79, of Perrysville, passed away at 11:25 a.m. EDT Saturday, March 20, 2010, at The Waters of Covington in Covington.

She was born March 20, 1931, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Stacey Kilby. She married Leland J. “Pete” Langley on Sept. 24, 1949, in Danville, Ill. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Gary (Lynn) Langley of Covington and Lary (Marsha) Langley of Perrysville; three grandchildren, Sharon Langley of Terre Haute, Kerri and Lance Langley of Perrysville; and one sister, Dorothy (Don) Bennett Sr. of Tilton, Ill. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Barbara was a member of the Union Corner United Methodist Church in Danville, Daughters of the Nile and the Perrysville Chapter 302 O.E.S., formerly serving as the worthy matron and District 8 deputy. Barbara loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed raising flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga. Officiating: Pastor Patti Wise. Burial: Atherton Cemetery in Danville. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the funeral home with O.E.S. memorial service at 8 p.m. EDT.
