Gloria J. Finley, 67, of Covington, Ind., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at St. Vincent’s Heart Center in Indianapolis.

She was born on May 24, 1945, the daughter of Jess and Dorothy (Sturgeon) Clark.

She married Ed Finley on Jan. 31, 1964, in Boswell, Ind. He survives.

Gloria is survived by one son, Troy (Jill) Finley of Veedersburg, Ind.; two daughters, Tracy Finley of Danville and Kim Evans of St. Joseph, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Drew and Carli Randles, Tyler, Tara and Houston Finley, Jesse and Wyatt McElwee, Ashlee and Britney Evans; two sisters, Shirley Burton of Oxford, Ind., and Pam Switzer of Covington, Ind.; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pat Leuck; and one granddaughter, baby Katie Randles.

Gloria graduated high school in Boswell, then went on to be a teachers’ aide at Covington High School for more than 30 years. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington and loved flowers, oil painting, teaching, her family and friends and especially life.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 11 a.m. EST Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. EST Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Sunset’s Covington Chapel. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
