WESTVILLE — Jackie D. Richards Sr., 70, of Westville, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Jackie was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Danville to Rex and Sarah Abeston Richards Sr.

He married Dianna Brown in 1993, and she passed away in 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Jackie D. (Linda) Richards Jr. of League City, Texas, and Rex W. (Lisa) Richards of Brazil, Ind.; one stepson, Ed (Cindy) Brown of Paxton; one daughter, Jamie (Daniel) McShane of Anderson, Ind.; one brother, Rex (Cheryl) Richards Jr. of Danville; seven sisters, Sally (Bill) Bland of Danville, Pam (Ray) Hilleary of Danville, Pat Bostwick of Georgetown, Peggy Cole of Tampa, Fla., Janet (Bill) Williams of Westville, Vicky (Mike) Cassidy of Texas, and Lisa (Bill) Unzicker of Danville; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Jackie was a longtime union construction worker. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Masonic lodge.

Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin, with Pastor Bob Cornell officiating. Burial in: Greenwood Cemetery in Danville. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Memorials to: the American Cancer Society. Online condolences at: www.robisonchapel.com.
