COVINGTON, Ind. — Bobby Joe Huxford, 74, of Covington, Ind., died at 3:39 a.m. EST Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1938, near Rosedale, Ind., the son of Earl and Ruth (Brown) Huxford.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Rosedale High School. He moved from Parke County to Covington in 1959 and was employed at Olin Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and the NRA. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Bob married Sharon E. Newnum Aug. 5, 1966, at Covington.

She survives with a daughter, Marka (Ed) Woolwine of Kingman, Ind.; two sons, Michael Drollinger of Veedersburg, Ind., and Steven (Jill) Drollinger of Hillsboro, Ind.; a sister, Maxine Brown of Brownsburg, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

His parents and three brothers, Wayne, Donald and Max, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Covington First Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at First Baptist Church. Pastors Joe Humerichous and Andy Harkleroad will officiate. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery.

Memorials requested to: Covington Baptist School. Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family.
