Michael Lee “Mick” Randall

DANVILLE — Michael Lee “Mick” Randall, 45, of Danville, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

He was born on May 19, 1967, the son of Ray and Phyllis (Varner) Randall. He has spent the last four years with his girlfriend, Kelly Meeker.

Surviving him is one son, Justin (Alisha Lewis) Cox of Danville; one daughter, Kelsey Roberts of Danville; one brother, Rick (Mary) Randall of Danville; two sisters, Terri (Larry) Jaggers of Danville and Cherri (Scott) Drews of Danville; nieces, Christin (Dusty) Randall-Murray, Blair Drews and Tara Jaggers; nephews, Cory Randall, Travis Jaggers and Brock Drews; one great-niece, Jaycie Jenkins; three great-nephews, Caden Billinglsley and Cruz and Cooper Murray; one special cousin, Pat, and many other cousins, aunts, uncles and special friends.

Mick was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his mother, Phyllis.

He loved sports especially coaching baseball and girls softball, playing pool and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mick was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

A special thanks to the radiologists, cancer center, cardiology, ultrasound and radiology reception staff at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Also to the oncology unit at Carle foundation Hospital in Urbana.

A celebration of Mick’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan, 22, 2013, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville with Father Greg Nelson officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Mick’s name to St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Schlarman Academy or Leaf A Legacy.
