Garry Eugene Ford Sr.

PEORIA — Garry Eugene Ford Sr., 80, of Peoria, passed away at 12:56 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville, with Pastor Lee Fellers officiating. Prior to services Wednesday, a Masonic service by the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge will take place at noon, with visitation immediately following. Burial: Songer Cemetery.

Garry was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Peoria to Rollo and Lois (Bracket) Ford.

He attended Peoria schools, served a brief time in the U.S. Marine Corps and then spent more than 30 years working at Caterpillar in material control. Garry was a member of American Legion Post 1115, the Masons 748 in Alta and the Shriners. He enjoyed hunting with his family and friends and anything to do with antique cars.

Garry leaves behind six children. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Ford of Tilton, and Pam of Arkansas; four sons, Roy (Marsha) Ford of Attica, Ind., Ron (Cathy) Ford of Covington, Ind., Scott Ford of Naples, Fla., and Steven Ford of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, June (Wally) Mason of Durango, Colo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers; a sister, Fern; a son, Garry Ford Jr.; and an infant daughter, Marcie.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63131.
