Iris 'June' Ziebart

CORTEZ, Colo. — Iris “June” Ziebart, 85, of Danville, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.

She was born on May 31, 1927, in Danville to Leslie and Helen Justice Edwards.

She first married Bill Reynolds. She later married Everett McKinley, who preceded her in death in 1988. She then married Paul Ziebart on July 24, 1993. He survives.

Also surviving are six children, Dick (Maggie) Reynolds of Morgan Hill, Calif., daughter-in-law, Peggy Houpt of Catlin, David (Lupé) Reynolds of Texas, Cyndi (Darrin) Deck of Suwanee, Ga., Scott (Kelley) McKinley of Danville, Dan (Debbie) Ziebart of Covington, Ind., and Richard (Susan) Ziebart of Hoopeston; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her second husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Don Reynolds; and a brother, Jack Edwards.

June was a lifelong member of Old Union Church and then Crossroads Christian Church in Danville. She loved people and enjoyed being with her family and her church family, especially loving her time spent with her grandkids.

One of June’s favorite pastimes was writing letters of encouragement to those who needed it every Monday morning. She also had volunteered at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village for many years.

A service to celebrate the life of June Ziebart will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Crossroads Christian Church in Danville. Pastor Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Jan. 24, also at Crossroads. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.
