Miss Johnson spent most of her life in Danville, Ill., helping her sister with the care of their invalid mother. She was a loving and generous aunt to her nieces and nephews, often like a mother to them. She continued to nurture her grandnieces and nephews. She loved children and made every child in her extended family feel special.

Her favorite hymn was “Amazing Grace,” saying it best expressed her testimony. Her interests included sewing, crocheting, music, photography, flowers, birds and wildlife. In later years, she discovered a talent for painting and crafts. Her excellent cross-stitch creations were popular additions to the homes of her family members.
