Beverly Jane Denton

Beverly Jane Denton, 82, of Danville, passed away at 2:26 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Provena Covenant in Urbana. Per her wishes, there will be private family services and she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Danville National Cemetery. Donations may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.

Beverly was born on Aug. 2, 1927, in Danville to Ben and Minnie (Dobbles) Lyman. She attended Grant Grade School and Danville High School.

She later worked at Petersons for over 25 years, retiring in the mid 1980s. Beverly enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and was a diehard Cubs fan.

Beverly married William Asher Denton on July 1, 1944. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1986. She also was preceded by her parents; an infant son; a son, John Allen; a brother, Bud Lyman; and two sisters, Virginia LaFrance and Helen Siddens. Beverly is survived by her four children, Danny (Cheryl) Denton, Billie (Earl) Arnett, Joe Denton and Mike (Tina) Denton; a sister, Shirley Tomlinson; a sister-in-law, Lucille Lyman; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
