DANVILLE — Donna Marie Dandridge is resting from her labors. With her earthly task completed, she is with the Lord and awaiting our arrival.

Fifty-one years ago, in Memphis, Tenn., Donna Marie Dandridge was born April 7, 1961, to Erma Dandridge and the late James Garret.

Donna attended Danville High School. She accepted Christ at an early age at East End Church of Christ. She later united with New Jerusalem Outreach Ministries in 2000 and was faithful until her illness limited her attendance.

Donna had a beautiful and carefree spirit. She was a dedicated mother and she adored her grandchildren.

An angel called her name. She answered the call and departed this earthly life on the evening of Feb. 23, 2013.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Erma Williams, and father, Earl Williams, both of Danville; a daughter, Destiny Battle, and two sons, Ricky Dandridge and Eljadon Battle, all of Danville; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Dana Dandridge, Cassandra Shephard and Elmonda Williams, all of Danville; three brothers, Dewone Dandridge of Dallas, Texas, and Irving Williams and Earl (Faith) Williams Jr., both of Danville; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded by her father and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will commence at noon Saturday, March 2, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Viewing will be 1-5 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams. Officiating: Pastor Bobby Keys. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
