Sharon Dale (Crockett) Kiger

ATTICA, Ind. — Sharon Dale (Crockett) Kiger lost her battle with cancer and made her journey home at the age of 64 on March 6, 2013.

Sharon Dale was born in Lexington, Ky., on Jan. 2, 1949, and was one of three children born to the late Betty J. Dee and Edmond Crockett.

Sharon moved to Warren County in 1974 and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, Ind., in 1984 with her technical certification as a licensed practical nurse.

Sharon moved to Attica, Ind., in 2006 and retired from American Senior Communities in Williamsport, Ind., in December of 2012.

Sharon devoted her life’s work to skilled nursing, rehabilitation, end-of-life care for others in the community.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and never missed an opportunity to share a good joke. She had a caring spirit, a passionate personality, a humble presence and infectious smile.

Sharon is survived by her brother, Joe Crockett of Williamsport; two sons, Gobel Christopher McKinney and Bryan Dale McKinney; six grandchildren, Kyauna Paige, Bryce Dakota, Kassidie Ann, Taylor Kay, Kelly Christopher and Elizabeth Brooke McKinney.

Sharon was preceded in death by her older brother, Thomas Crockett.

At her request, no services will be held. It is the family’s wish that donations be sent in her name to: Saint Elizabeth Hospice, 1415 Salem St., Lafayette, IN 47904.
