Deziraye Love Reed

DANVILLE — Deziraye Love Reed, 8, “Pooh Bear,” of Danville, went to be with our Holy Father at noon Sept. 5, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Deziraye Love was born June 1, 2002, in Danville. She is the only daughter of Darcey Cottrell and Robert “Wayne” Reed.

Deziraye was our Sweet Angel and we love her. She enjoyed being with her DaDa and he always made her laugh. Her favorite toy was her tubey. We never left home without it.

Even though she never spoke a word, we always knew what she wanted and how she felt. Her feet never took a step, but yet she rolled wherever she wanted.

A beautiful girl and a beautiful smile, many people thought she was lucky to have us, but the truth was we were blessed to have her “Deziraye,” a true gift from God and our baby forever.

She leaves in loving memory forever brothers, Robert Jr. II and Antwan I; grandparents, Vivian (Marcus) Brooks of Danville, Robert Pope of Mississippi, Cindy (Troy) Watson and Timothy Cottrell; great-grandparents, Pearlean Reed of Danville and James and Judy Cottrell; special aunties, Shawntea Reed of Danville, Shavonnda and Ladora Atcher, Kenya Smith of Tulsa, Okla., and TaMikie Smith of Springfield, Ill.; special uncles, Nikia and Shavar Reed of Danville, Dusty Cottrell of Mississippi and Derek Watson; and also special godfathers, Justin Calvin, Dante “Fish” Thomas, Steve Bretcha, Jason Tyler and Randall Carter; and many, many numerous cousins, friends and family.

She was preceded in death by great-grandfather “Pops” Moses Reed; great-grandmother, “Lovie” Lovilla Watson; and uncles, Ned, Jason and Poke Salad.

A service to celebrate Deziraye’s life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be 1-3 p.m. prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
