DANVILLE — Robert H. Dolkey, 83, of Danville, passed away Oct. 27, 2012, at his home with his wife, Doris, and friend Glenda at his side.
Robert was born April 17, 1929, in Vincennes, Ind., to James A. and Edna Dolkey. Robert worked various jobs in Vincennes where he met his deceased wife of 61 years, Patricia L. Leach. On July 24, 2012, while in the hospital he married his longtime friend and companion, Doris Decker.
He is survived by a brother, James Eugene; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his wife, Patricia; daughter, Kim; brother, Jack; nieces and nephews; and his dog, Tia.
Robert served in the U.S. Army from May 1951 to May 1953. While stationed in Korea he was awarded two Bronze Stars and obtained the rank of sergeant. After returning from the service, he and his wife moved to Danville where he retired from General Motors after 30 years.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Pastor Mark Keyser of the Ridge View Baptist Church will be officiating. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 210. Memorials may be made in Robert’s name to Provena Home Health or Provena Hospice.
