DANVILLE — Josephine Ellen Reed, 94, of Danville, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville.

Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams, Danville, IL 61832 with Pastor Steve Zerkle officiating. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Pape’s. Burial: Sunset Cemetery.

Josephine was born March 2, 1918, in Danville, Ill., to Faye and Gladys Beatrice Hannon Bartlett.

She attended Oaklawn Grade School and Danville High School. She had worked at Meade Park Grade School. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles and social bowling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Josephine married Harold Emerson Reed on Sept. 25, 1937, in Covington, Ind. He preceded her on Aug. 20, 1997.

Surviving are three daughters, Gladys Miller, Judy Reed and Sally (Phillip) Reed; eight grandchildren, Michael Hayden, Gregory (Sharon) Hayden, Sue (Eli) Williams, William Meeker, Douglas Reed, Troy Reed, Wade Reed and Jody (Kevin) Harrison; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Harold; and a great-granddaughter, Nicole Renee Harrison.
