COLUMBIA, Mo. — Jo Ann Isaacson, 72, of Columbia, Mo., passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012.

She was born in Danville, Ill., on Sept. 12, 1939, to Grace (Huber) and Loyd Parsons.

She resided in Danville with her mother, Grace; stepfather, Claude Handley; and siblings until she met Charles Isaacson. They were married on Dec. 24, 1960, at Union Corner United Methodist Church in Danville.

Once married, they moved to St. Charles, Mo., and resided there for 34 years. In 1994, they moved to Columbia after Charles retired, to be closer to their family.

Jo Ann loved spending time with her family and visiting relatives, especially at family reunions. She enjoyed learning about and sharing her family history through genealogy.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Claudia Coffin (Gregg) of Columbia, Mo.; three siblings, Stephen Parsons, Kenneth Parsons (Kathy) and Penny Jo Shanks, all of Danville; two grandchildren, Nicole Coffin and Ryan Coffin; and two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Daisy Petersen, all of Columbia, Mo.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Claude Handley; and one brother, Larry Michael Parsons.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2400 Bluff Creek Dr., Columbia, MO 65201.
