Chrystal Ellen Overby

TILTON — Chrystal Ellen Overby, 58, of Tilton, passed away at 5:53 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at her home.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1954, in Danville to William Arthur and Lois Emmaline Knoll Sanders.

She married Glenn E. Overby II on May 11, 2002, in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, William V. (Lorraine) Sherman of Danville; a daughter, Susan J. Bradley of Palatine; her mother, Lois Emmaline (Jack) Taylor; four grandchildren, Melanie, Robert, Liam and Zoee; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Callie; a half-sister, Diana Longdail; a half-brother, David Dittmar; and many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Chrystal graduated as a registered nurse from Lakeview School of Nursing. She worked for Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana for 15 years.

Chrystal was very active with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also liked to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Chrystal also had been involved with the Red Mask Players in Danville and was a regular movie-goer. She also was an animal lover who cared for many kinds of pets over the years.

A service to celebrate the life of Chrystal Overby will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Danville. Bishop Bill Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, also at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, in Danville is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Humanitarian Aid Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
