Coralie O’Banion

OAKWOOD — Coralie O’Banion, 82, of Oakwood, passed away at 9:13 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 2013, at North Logan Health Care in Danville.

She was born Jan. 31, 1931, to Thomas and Cora (Rodrick) Kinney in Hammond, Ind. She married Billy Joe O’Banion and they divorced after 21 years of marriage. He preceded her in death.

Coralie is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Miller of Paris and Evelyn Ward of Oakwood; grandchildren, Dr. Joe (Chia) Miller, Jamie J. (Angela) Shuman and Amy (Bill Elwood) Miller; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Blankenship, Ashley Craig and Dillon Kielhorn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graduate of Oakwood High School, Coralie worked for the Danville YMCA and later retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement Store. She was an avid reader, enjoyed keeping her yard tidy and listening to Elvis’ music. Coralie loved her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

A celebration of Coralie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, in Oakwood with Pastor Tom Armour of Paris Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Oakwood.

Memorials may be made in Coralie’s name to the Danville YMCA.
